Dear Simran,

How're you doing? I was so joyful to hear that you're moving to my country, in particular, in my city. As you're looking for a job, fortunately, I get to know about a vacancy in a local company in my area that might be perfect for you.

It's a grocery store and they required a full-time cashier who can work flexible hours. You just need to attend customers, make their grocery bills, and handle cash.

I'm pretty confident that you're a perfect match for this position. Since you have work as a customer representative for past three year, which significantly improved your communication as well as problem-solving skills.

If you're interested in this positing, you can apply it through their official website. All you have to do is prepare a well-structured resume that effectively highlights your key skills and professional experience. Once, your resume is ready, you can upload it along with a tailored cover letter.

I hope you will get this job promptly. Let me know if you need help while applying for the position.

See you soon!

Best wishes,

Pooja

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly describe the job at the grocery store, explain why your friend's background in customer service makes them a suitable candidate, and provide a logical process for applying. The tone is appropriately friendly and informal, fitting the context of writing to a friend. The ideas are well-developed and the purpose of the letter is clear from the beginning. To reach a higher band, ensure that all minor grammatical slips do not distract from the clarity of your message, though you have fully satisfied the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for each requirement, and a polite closing. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the different points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Since,' 'Once,' and 'If you're interested,' which help the flow of the letter. However, the transition between the job description and the application process could be slightly smoother. The overall progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the letter maintains a consistent, friendly tone throughout, which is essential for this type of task.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a good range of vocabulary suitable for a semi-formal or informal letter. Phrases like 'perfect match,' 'well-structured resume,' and 'tailored cover letter' are used accurately. There are a few minor word choice errors, such as 'positing' instead of 'position' and 'apply it' instead of 'apply for it.' While these do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocations. Expanding your range to include more idiomatic expressions or varied adjectives would further enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'you have work' (should be 'you have worked') and 'for past three year' (should be 'for the past three years'). Additionally, there is a minor punctuation error in 'Once, your resume is ready,' where the comma is unnecessary. Despite these slips, the majority of your sentences are clear and error-free. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage when describing past professional experience.
