Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: describing the job, explaining why it is suitable, and providing application instructions. However, the response is slightly under the 150-word minimum, which impacts the overall development of ideas. The description of the job as a 'newspaper disturber' (likely meaning distributor) is clear enough, but the explanation of why it is suitable is quite brief. To improve, you should expand on the reasons why the job fits your friend's situation, perhaps by mentioning how the physical activity or the schedule aligns with their specific personality or needs. The tone is appropriate for a friend, but the brevity prevents a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each addressing a specific requirement of the prompt. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Also' and 'For job posting' to transition between ideas. However, the flow is somewhat mechanical, and some sentences feel disjointed. For example, the transition between the job description and the application process could be smoother. To improve, try using a wider range of linking words and phrases (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'In addition to this', 'Consequently') to connect your sentences more naturally. The paragraphing is clear, which helps the reader follow your message.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several errors in word choice and collocation that hinder precision. For instance, 'haunting a job' is incorrect; 'hunting for a job' or 'looking for a job' would be standard. Similarly, 'newspaper disturber' is likely a misuse of 'distributor'. Phrases like 'physical fit' should be 'physically fit'. While you successfully communicate your meaning, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the errors in word choice are noticeable. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural collocations would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'I am reaching back to you' (should be 'writing to you'), 'in the column of the our famous newspaper' (incorrect article usage), and 'looking forward to hear you back' (should be 'hearing back from you'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will help improve your accuracy.
