- say why you think the job would be suitable for him/her
- explain how to apply for the job
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Riya,
I am glad that you are doing well. I am doing great too.Its been a long that we haven’t met.I am writing to tell you about a job vacancy that you were asking about and I am happy to inform you that there is a vacancy for assistant physiotherapist in a clinic named SHREEJI PHYSIO which might be suitable for you.
Recently I have come across to an advertisement of a need for an assistant physiotherapist in a well known clinic. It is a sports based clinic in which you have to take a fitness assessment for the sports players as well as make a treatment plan for them. In addition to that, you have to go to the home visit for injured players.
I think this is the most suitable job for you because you did your masters in fitness industry and you have enough knowledge in this field. You can visit their website for further information and send your resume.
I hope you got this job and we will meet soon.
Best wishes,
Kruti Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points of the task. You clearly describe the job at SHREEJI PHYSIO, explain why it is suitable for Riya by referencing her master's degree, and provide instructions on how to apply. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend, maintaining a friendly and helpful persona throughout. To reach a higher band, you could expand slightly on the 'what sort of work it involves' section by providing more specific examples of the daily tasks or the environment, which would help to further develop your ideas and make the letter more engaging.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs covering the required points, and a closing. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat limited and occasionally mechanical. For instance, the transition between the job description and the reason for suitability could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words or phrases (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'Consequently', 'Given your background') would improve the flow and help the letter feel more cohesive rather than just a list of points.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'vacancy', 'physiotherapist', 'fitness assessment', and 'treatment plan'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies and awkward phrasings, such as 'come across to an advertisement' (should be 'come across an advertisement') and 'go to the home visit' (should be 'conduct home visits'). To improve, try to use more precise collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, but lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. However, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'Its been a long that we haven’t met' (should be 'It has been a long time since we met') and 'you did your masters' (should be 'you completed your master's degree'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after periods. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation will significantly improve your accuracy.
