Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter covers all three bullet points: it describes the job, explains why it is suitable, and provides application instructions. The tone is appropriate for a friend, and the purpose is clear from the outset. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the benefits of the job. While the response addresses the prompt, the explanation of why the job is suitable relies heavily on the fact that the friend studied commerce, which could have been expanded upon with more specific details about how his skills match the role. Overall, the task is fulfilled, but the depth of information could be improved to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the prompt. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Also one of the most benefits items' or 'Therefore, this vacancy, it's best suitable'. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the flow. The referencing is generally clear, though some phrasing makes the connections between ideas feel a bit disjointed.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate the necessary information. There are attempts to use more specific terminology, such as 'vacancy', 'incentive', and 'allowances'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'give information related your profession', 'It's possess good reputation', and 'best toward employees'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a limited range of sophisticated vocabulary and a lack of precision in word usage. More attention to natural collocations would improve this score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('It's possess'), article usage ('go to website'), and prepositional errors ('related your profession'). Some sentences are also structurally awkward, such as 'I would like to know you that how you should apply'. These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the message. A greater focus on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
