Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You begin by mentioning the procurement manager position and explaining what the work involves by noting that it aligns with your friend's bachelors degree in logistics and procurement. You then address why it is suitable, pointing out the handsome salary package and lifestyle benefits. Finally, you explain how to apply by giving the option to visit the portal or having your former colleague in HR handle the resume directly. The tone is appropriately friendly and conversational for a General Training letter. All parts of the prompt are addressed clearly, and the ideas are extended sufficiently, warranting a solid Band 7.0 for this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter maintains a clear overall progression and logical organisation. You successfully use cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'You just have to', and 'Whatever suits you' to connect your ideas. However, the paragraphing is underdeveloped; the entire body of the letter is grouped into one very large block of text rather than being broken down into distinct paragraphs for each bullet point. While the individual sentences flow relatively well together and referencing is mostly clear, this lack of structural paragraphing prevents the response from achieving a higher score, placing it firmly at Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating topic-specific terms such as 'procurement manager', 'expertise', 'experience', 'vacancy', and 'resume'. There are some attempts at less common phrasing like 'handsome salary package', although you make a few noticeable lexical and spelling errors, such as writing 'logistic' instead of 'logistics', 'thier' instead of 'their', 'deparment' instead of 'department', and 'opportuniy' instead of 'opportunity'. These errors do not impede communication, but they restrict the score. The vocabulary is adequate and conveys your message effectively, earning a Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as conditional and relative clauses ('As you asked me...', 'as you have done your bachelors...'). However, there are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text. For example, your opening sentence is a sentence fragment ('As you asked me to keep checking for a suitable job for you which matches your expertise and experience in my country.'), and you have run-on sentences with improper comma splices or missing full stops, such as 'well as you know jobs opportunity in my country are very limited.' Despite these frequent errors, the meaning is generally clear and does not impede the reader, which aligns well with the descriptors for Band 6.0.
