Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response covers all bullet points of the task well. You successfully told your friend about the job at Reliance Inc. involving senior-level operations management, explained why it is suitable based on her phenomenal college performance and leadership qualities, and described the application process clearly by directing her to their website and asking her to submit her resume and CV. The tone is appropriately friendly and conversational for a General Training letter. All parts of the prompt are fully addressed with well-developed ideas, meeting the criteria for a solid band 7.5 or 8.0, though the explanation of the job could be slightly more detailed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
Your letter has a clear logical organisation and progression from greeting to closing. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different topics, such as the introduction of the job, the reasons for suitability, and the application instructions. Cohesive devices are generally handled well, though the transition between paragraphs could sometimes be smoother. For example, starting paragraphs with phrases like 'I remember your performance' works well, but referencing and linking could be tightened to achieve a higher score. Overall, the message is easy to follow and structured coherently.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary with some attempts at less common items, such as 'phenomenal', 'significantly', and 'recruitment'. However, there are a few noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as writing 'MNC' instead of 'MNCs', 'sinificantly' instead of 'significantly', and 'recruitement' instead of 'recruitment'. Additionally, phrases like 'rank first position' are slightly unnatural and could be phrased as 'secured the top rank'. Despite these occasional inaccuracies, your vocabulary is adequate for the task and does not impede communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating a decent command of grammar. There are several error-free sentences, such as 'I hope you are doing well' and 'I am positive you will make it'. However, some grammatical and punctuation errors persist, including missing capitalization and spelling slips in pronouns ('i genuinely beleive'), run-on phrasing in the application section ('the application procedure is very simple; go to their website and open the job recruitement page they had mentioned all the postings there'), and minor prepositional inconsistencies. These errors do not impede communication, placing your grammar securely in the band 6.5 range.
