Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required in the prompt. You introduce the job opportunity in a local food production company and specify that the roles are related to the finance department involving book-keeping and managing transactions. You provide clear reasons why the job suits your friend by mentioning their Master degree in management financing and their banking experience. Finally, you clearly explain how to apply by instructing your friend to visit the company website, use the career tab, and attach an updated resume. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the tone is appropriately friendly and encouraging. All parts of the task are adequately addressed, earning a solid band score for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The letter has a clear overall progression and logical organization. Each paragraph serves a distinct purpose, moving smoothly from the greeting and introduction of the job, to the job description, the reasons for suitability, the application process, and finally the sign-off. Cohesive devices are used adequately, such as 'Furthermore' to add supporting points and 'The process application' to transition to instructions. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different ideas. However, referencing and transitional phrases could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher band. Overall, the ideas are easy to follow and the letter flows naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common lexical items such as 'job vacancies', 'employment sites', and 'book-keeping'. However, there are several word choice and collocation inaccuracies throughout the text. For example, writing 'who deals in' instead of 'which deals in', 'The most job positions related to' instead of 'Most job positions are related to', and 'process application' instead of 'application process'. Additionally, 'managment financing' contains a spelling error ('management') and awkward phrasing ('finance management'). Despite these errors, communication is not impeded, and the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended message clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating a reasonable command of grammar. Examples of successful complex sentences include 'I believe this job position is suitable for you, as you've master degree in managment financing.' However, there are several grammatical errors present, such as missing articles ('you've a master's degree', 'visit the company website', 'under the career tab') and incorrect verb forms ('which gonna help' instead of 'which is going to help'). Punctuation and capitalization are generally fine, though there are minor slips like 'warm regards' instead of 'Warm regards'. These errors do not impede communication, allowing the reader to understand the letter easily.
