Dear Sam,

I hope you are in radiant health and best of spirits. I am excited to hear about your decision of working in my country.

While looking at the jobs bank website recently, an opportunity caught my attention. My previous company is looking for an experienced project manager. The job duties were quite similar to your requirments as they are looking someone who has expertise in healthcare sector. Additionally, they want the employee to manage a team of 10 individuals and meet project deadlines.

I believe this is a perfect opportunity for you as the job description was quite similar to your work experience. Moreover, as an ex-employee I can say that the work culture in the organisation is positive. They never ask wokers to give extra hours and you get ample of additional benefits such as health insurance, food voucher and travel allowence.

You can directly apply on the company's career portal. Additionally, use my referral that could increase your selection chances as they prefer to hire individuals with good references. One more iportant thing to add is that do not forget to include a cover letter explaining about how you can contribute to the gowth and success of the team and company.

Wishing you very best for your future endavours.

Yours lovingly,

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 8.0

The response successfully covers all parts of the task prompt in a natural and engaging manner. You clearly told your friend about the job and its duties, mentioning that your previous company is looking for an 'experienced project manager' to 'manage a team of 10 individuals'. You explained why the job is suitable, noting that the description matches their work experience in the 'healthcare sector' and highlighting positive aspects of the work culture. Finally, you explained how to apply by pointing them to the 'career portal', suggesting the use of a referral, and reminding them to include a cover letter. The tone is appropriate for a friend, and the purpose of the letter is fully achieved.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 8.0

The letter is logically sequenced with a clear, friendly opening and closing. Paragraphing is used effectively, with each body paragraph dedicated to a distinct aspect of the prompt: job details, suitability, and the application process. Cohesive devices such as 'While looking at', 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'One more important thing' are utilised appropriately to guide the reader smoothly through the text. Referencing is clear throughout, and the overall progression of ideas feels natural and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient and generally flexible range of vocabulary suitable for a semi-formal/friendly letter. Phrases like 'radiant health and best of spirits', 'healthcare sector', and 'cover letter' show good control of topic-specific language. There are a few spelling and typographical errors, such as 'requirments' instead of requirements, 'wokers' instead of workers, 'allowence' instead of allowance, and 'iportant' instead of important. Despite these minor slips, the vocabulary is adequate to convey your message clearly and accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0

The letter contains a healthy mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as participial phrases ('While looking at the jobs bank website recently, an opportunity caught my attention') and conditional/relative clauses. Grammatical control is generally good, though there are a few minor errors, such as 'decision of working' instead of decision to work, missing prepositions ('looking someone' instead of looking for someone), and spelling slips. Punctuation is mostly accurate, and these minor grammatical imperfections do not impede communication.
