IELTS Writing Task 1 question

A friend you made while you were studying abroad has written to ask you for help in finding a job in your country. You have heard about a job in a local company that might be suitable for him/her.

Write a letter to this friend. In your letter

• tell your friend about the job and what sort of work it involves
• say why you think the job would be suitable for him/her
• explain how to apply for the job

Dear Siya,

I received your letter and I am glad that you asked me about job oportunities here. As it happens, I have recently heard about a family looking for a babysitter, and I immedately thought it would be best suitable for you.

The job involves looking after two children aged two and six, for around five hours in the afternoon on weekdays. Your main responsibilities would be preparing simple meals, helping children with their homework, organising some indoor activities and making sure they are safe and comfortable until their parents return home.

I think this position would suit you particularly well because you are patient and responsible. Moreover, you used to take care of your younger brother when we were studying abroad, so you already have some practical experience with children. Your friendly personality would also help you build a good relationship with them.

If you are interested, you can apply by sending your CV and a short cover letter to the family's email address. If you like, I can also send you the details. They are hoping to find someone as soon as possible, probably next week, so I recommend you to send your resume in a few days.
