|---|---|

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response covers all three bullet points required by the task, ensuring that the letter serves its communicative purpose effectively. You successfully tell Rahul about the job in chemistry, explain why he is suitable based on your shared background and his practical laboratory skills, and outline the online application process. However, some aspects are slightly under-developed. For instance, the description of the work and the application steps could have been expanded with more specific details to fully flesh out the context. Despite these minor limitations, the tone is appropriately friendly and semi-formal, fulfilling the general training letter requirements well enough to sit comfortably in the middle band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your letter shows a clear overall arrangement with paragraphs dedicated to distinct points, such as introducing the job, explaining suitability, and detailing the application method. You use basic cohesive devices adequately to connect your ideas, such as 'Moreover' and 'For the application'. While referencing is generally clear, some transitions feel a bit mechanical and repetitive, particularly the repeated use of 'Moreover'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the letter logically, guiding the reader smoothly from the greeting down to the sign-off, which achieves a satisfactory level of readability and coherence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message about the job vacancy and chemical solutions. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'later' instead of 'letter', 'componies' instead of 'companies', 'becholer' instead of 'bachelor', and 'currunt' instead of 'current'. You attempt less common vocabulary items like 'ideal situation' and 'preserve', but inaccuracies in spelling and collocation occasionally impede smooth reading. To reach a higher level, you will need to demonstrate a wider range of precise lexical items and eliminate basic spelling errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'I am writing this later to inform you...' and 'I think you are suitable for this job, because you used to make...'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'whether they are made in ideal situation' and 'have some time with together in same area'. The control over verb tenses and prepositions is inconsistent at times. Improving your command of complex sentence structures and reducing grammatical slips will significantly enhance the accuracy and readability of your writing.
