Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all the bullet points required by the task prompt. You have told your friend about a caregiver job in a local company, explained why it would be suitable for them since they want to become a philanthropist, and outlined how to apply through the online portal or advertisement. However, some ideas are a bit under-developed. For instance, the details about the job and the company name, 'caregiver for old people', are slightly vague and simplistic. To move towards higher bands, you should extend and support your ideas with more elaboration and richer details, rather than just stating them briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement, and the reader can easily follow the general message. However, the progression is sometimes hampered by a lack of proper paragraphing, as the entire body of the letter is written in a single block of text rather than being divided into logical paragraphs for different points. Furthermore, cohesive devices are somewhat mechanical or repetitive, such as the reliance on basic connectors. To achieve a higher band, you need to organise your writing into distinct paragraphs and use a wider, more natural variety of cohesive links to connect your ideas smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary to complete the task, attempting some less common words and phrases like 'passionate', 'prestigious', and 'philanthrophist'. However, there are noticeable word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as writing 'i' instead of 'I', 'find' instead of 'found', 'accomodation' with a misspelling, and phrasing like 'as my perspective' instead of 'in my opinion'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict your score. To improve, you should focus on correct word forms, precise collocations, and careful spelling checks.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

Your writing shows a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'As my perspective, you should join this prestigious job as you are a well human being.' There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('about job', 'as caregiver job', 'with excellent salary package'), incorrect verb tenses ('I am writing a letter to you about job as you told me. Recently, i searched a lot and find...'), and capitalization issues. Fortunately, these errors rarely impede communication. To reach a higher level, you should increase your control over articles, ensure consistent verb tenses, and eliminate minor structural slips.
