Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, though some aspects are more fully covered than others. You successfully inform Sahil about the cooking job at a local restaurant, explain why it suits him due to his diploma and experience, and outline the application process. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, the description of the work and training period is brief and lacks detail, and the explanation of how to apply relies heavily on vague phrasing such as 'go on the website that i attached in this mail' rather than providing a more fleshed-out scenario. The overall tone is appropriately informal, but the development of points remains basic.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear friendly greeting and sign-off, and you use basic cohesive devices to connect your ideas. For example, connectors like 'Then' and 'The best thing is that' help move the text forward, and referencing is generally understandable, such as using 'this job' to refer back to the restaurant position. However, paragraphing is somewhat faulty and mechanical, with many very short, single-sentence paragraphs that fragment the flow of the letter. Progression between ideas is occasionally abrupt, meaning the text lacks the smoother transitions expected at higher levels.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is limited but minimally adequate to convey your message about the job offer. You make several noticeable lexical and spelling errors that cause some difficulty, such as spelling 'restaurant' as 'resturant', 'easily' as 'eassily', 'deny' as 'denie', 'as well' as 'aw well', and 'reference' as 'refrence'. There are also awkward collocations and word choices, like 'gorgeus friend refrence'. While you attempt some less common vocabulary related to employment like 'diploma' and 'experience', the persistent spelling and word-choice inaccuracies restrict the vocabulary score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You demonstrate a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms. These attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, featuring frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, and articles. Examples include lowercase letters for 'i', missing articles in 'found cooking job' and 'one gorgeus friend refrence', and run-on structures like 'you will be on training for few weeks then at first they would check your abilities, then give you work according to that.' These frequent errors in grammar and punctuation can cause occasional difficulty for the reader.
