Dear ................. ,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Tahir,
I hope you are doing well. I recieved your letter two days ago but I am sorry that I couldn't write back to you as I was occupied by couple of significant issues. You mentioned regarding the job and I am delighted to tell you that I can assist you in this matter as I have found a vacancy that might be convinient for you in all the possible ways. It is a local software company which is searching for an experienced software engineer to repair the damaged computers and laptops.
I strongly believe that this job is made for you as the requirement states that they need an individual who has a bachelors degree in sofware engineering with minimum of two years work experience. In addition to this they offer an accomadation to all their employees in the organization's premises which will mitigate your transport and accomadation cost.
The application process is very simple, you have to signup to their website www.ktsoftware.com and upload all your required documents. I hope you get this opportunity. Best of luck for your future endeavours.
Your dearest friend,
Kisa.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you describe a software-engineering vacancy and its repair duties, explain that Tahir’s degree and experience match the requirements, and give a website-based application method. The accommodation benefit also makes the recommendation more personal and relevant. This is a solid response, but some details are less fully developed: for example, “repair the damaged computers and laptops” gives only a narrow picture of the work, and the application instructions do not say which documents to upload or what happens after submission. To strengthen the letter, add one or two practical details about the role and application, and make the suitability explanation more specific to your friend’s known skills or experience.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression from greeting and context, to the vacancy and reasons for recommending it, and finally to application instructions and a friendly closing. Paragraphing supports this sequence, while links such as “In addition to this” and “as” help connect related ideas. The overall organisation is easy to follow. Some transitions are slightly formulaic, and the opening sentence carries several ideas at once, which makes the main point less immediate. You could improve the flow by separating the apology from the job news and using more direct links between the job requirements and your friend’s qualifications. The closing is appropriate for a friend, though a brief invitation to ask for further help would make the ending feel more connected to the purpose of the letter.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the task, including relevant terms such as “vacancy,” “experienced software engineer,” “work experience,” and “application process.” Phrases such as “mitigate your transport … cost” show an attempt to use less common vocabulary, but the wording is not fully natural in this context. There are also spelling errors in “recieved,” “convinient,” “sofware,” and “accomadation,” and “signup” is not the usual form when used as a verb. These do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, but they reduce accuracy and polish. Aim for precise, natural collocations and proofread spelling, especially in key job-related terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a vacancy that might be convenient for you” and a reason clause in “as the requirement states.” Most of the message remains clear, and the sentence structures are generally manageable. Some grammatical issues persist, however: “occupied by couple of significant issues” needs an article and a more suitable construction, while “a bachelors degree” needs a possessive apostrophe and “with minimum of two years work experience” needs articles or determiners. The long opening sentence also joins several ideas without enough separation. Review articles, possessives, and sentence boundaries, while retaining the complex structures you have attempted.
