Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three requested points: you identify a pharmaceutical company and describe documentation and document review, explain that your friend’s pharmacy degree makes the role suitable, and say to email a résumé. These details keep the letter relevant and give the reader a clear basic picture of the opportunity. However, the job itself remains somewhat unclear: the company’s products are mentioned, but the role title and its day-to-day duties are not specified. The suitability explanation is also brief, and the application instructions could be more useful if you named a contact, deadline, or documents to include. Develop these points more fully and make the recommendation and next steps explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the company and role, gives reasons your friend may suit it, and ends with application advice. Paragraph breaks help separate the main ideas, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore” and “Consequently” show an attempt to connect them. At times, though, the progression feels mechanical, and some links do not clearly express the relationship between ideas. For example, “Ultimately” and “Consequently” are used where a direct transition would be clearer. The opening paragraph also combines company information, your own work history, and the boss’s recommendation in a way that makes the job description harder to follow. Group related details and use clearer references to the position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “Quality Assurance Department,” “documentation,” “review,” “Bachelor of pharmacy,” and “resume.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of the workplace and application process. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations are unnatural or unclear, such as “Medicinal industry,” “recommend you,” and “good to have a experience.” There is also a spelling error in “Pharmceutical.” Choose more precise workplace language and check common collocations: for example, describe the company as a pharmaceutical manufacturer and say that the role involves preparing and reviewing records. More accurate phrasing will make your meaning easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “as” and a sequence of instructions about applying. The overall message can be followed, but errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction sometimes make the relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “from last 2 years 9 months,” “you have study,” and “you email your resume”; these need more accurate tense and verb forms. The sentence beginning “He told me to be a good about the sort of working” is particularly difficult to interpret. Practise forming clear clauses and checking articles and verb agreement, while keeping some longer sentences to show range.
