Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Fiza,

I,m writing to let you know that once you've asked me to inform you if there's any job role available here in London which will suits your intrests.

Yesterday, I came across a linkedln post where a well reputed healthcare organisation has advatised for the hiring of a new staff inthe radiology department. And the job role involve duties of performing CT scan and Xrays of emergency patients.

After seeing this post your thought instantly flashed up in my mind that this job is a perfect fit for you as you already had a significant experience in this relivant field and I have seen your passion of working in a healthcare sector.

I read the instructions in the job description and I believe the application process is not hectic as their website is easy to understand. What you ony need to do is upload your CV which covers all the crucial points about your education and previous experience and just fill your personal details in the portal. They will review your application and give you response accordingly.

Best of luck,

Navishana

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you identify a radiology vacancy, describe CT scans and X-rays for emergency patients, explain why Fiza’s experience and interest make her suitable, and outline the online application. The purpose and friendly relationship are clear. The job description and suitability are relevant, but they could be developed further—for example, mention the employer or any specific skills the role requires, and connect those requirements directly to Fiza’s experience. The application instructions are useful, though details such as where to find the vacancy or what to include in the CV would make them more complete. This is a solid response with some parts more fully explained than others; fuller, more specific support would strengthen it further. A suitable friendly closing is also needed after “Best of luck”.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a clear overall sequence: you introduce the reason for writing, describe the vacancy, explain why it suits Fiza, and finish with application guidance. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and phrases such as “After seeing this post” and “What you only need to do” signal connections between ideas. Some linking is less natural or precise, however. “After seeing this post your thought instantly flashed up in my mind” is awkward and makes the reference unclear, while “They will review your application” shifts to an unspecified employer. Use simpler, clearer transitions and name the company or recruitment team when referring back to it. The ending also feels abrupt: add a friendly sign-off such as “Write back if you need any help” before your name.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the task, including “radiology department,” “CT scan,” “emergency patients,” “application process,” and “previous experience.” These choices communicate the main information and show some range beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “intrests,” “advatised,” “releivant,” and “a linkedln post.” Phrases such as “the hiring of a new staff” and “your thought instantly flashed up in my mind” also sound unnatural in this context. Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, especially in a letter that gives practical advice. More precise wording for the duties and application steps would make the message clearer and more polished.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including a relative clause in “a healthcare organisation has advertised” and a longer explanation of the application process. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “which will suits” should use the base form after “will,” and “the job role involve” needs a singular verb. “Once you’ve asked me to inform you” is also an awkward tense construction; “as you asked me to let you know” would be clearer. In “a new staff,” the noun phrase is not grammatically appropriate. Review subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and break up longer sentences where needed. More consistently accurate sentences would improve control.
