Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: it describes an assistant manager vacancy at a Delhi hotel, explains that the role involves managing staff duties and schedules, links the opportunity to Tim’s MBA and internship, and gives an online application route. The friendly tone and clear recommendation suit the purpose. The explanation of the work is relevant but fairly brief, and the application guidance could be more specific—for example, mentioning what documents to submit or how to follow up. The suitability point is stronger because it connects the role to Tim’s qualifications and career goal. Overall, the task is clearly covered and the ideas are supported, although some details remain general rather than fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear, useful sequence: the opening introduces the purpose, the next paragraph describes the vacancy, the following paragraph explains why it suits Tim, and the final paragraph gives application advice. Paragraphing makes each part easy to locate, while phrases such as “I think this job would be perfect for you” and “You can check more information online” guide the reader through the letter. The progression is logical throughout. To make the links still more natural, vary the transitions and connect the job requirements more explicitly to Tim’s experience. The closing is appropriately friendly, though the final wish could be integrated more smoothly with the application advice.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary is sufficient to explain the opportunity and maintain a friendly tone, with relevant terms such as “assistant manager,” “internship experience,” “career page,” and “renowned hotel.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “fit and fine,” “hotel inn,” “great assest,” and “get you dream job.” Spelling errors such as “assitanat” and “assest” also reduce precision. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, but they show limited control of spelling and natural phrasing. Aim for accurate, conventional expressions and check word forms carefully; this will make the letter sound more fluent and professional without losing its warmth.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The letter uses a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the reason clause in “as you have done MBA” and the coordinated description of the role. Most meaning remains clear, and the paragraphs are built from complete sentences. Some grammatical errors persist, however: “you have done MBA” needs an article or a more natural construction, “a few assistant manager” has a number-agreement problem, and “get you dream job” uses the wrong possessive form. The sentence beginning “As per the job descriptions” also shifts awkwardly between the hotel and the vacancies as its subject. Review articles, plurals, and possessives, and vary sentence patterns while keeping control of agreement.
