Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the Finance Manager vacancy, outline accounting duties, explain why Nabeel’s background and leadership make him suitable, and give two ways to apply. The details about the accounting team and the HR email make the advice relevant and practical. This meets the task well, but some points are only briefly developed. For example, the duties are listed rather than explained, and the suitability claim could be linked more specifically to his past experience. The application instructions would also be clearer if you explained what to include with the CV or how to find the vacancy on the website. More development and precision would make the letter feel more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: you introduce the vacancy, explain why it suits your friend, and then give application instructions. Paragraphing supports this sequence, and links such as “As” and “Meanwhile” help connect the ideas. The reference to your friend’s job search also gives the recommendation a logical context. Some transitions are less smooth, however: “The job was shared to me” interrupts the flow of the suitability paragraph, and the opening combines a greeting and the purpose in one sentence. A more deliberate separation of the job description, recommendation, and next steps, with clearer links between them, would make the organisation feel more polished and cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the purpose, including relevant terms such as “Finance Manager,” “Bank reconciliation,” “accounting team,” and “leadership abilities.” These make the role and your recommendation understandable. There are, however, several spelling and word-choice errors, including “Germen,” “Profit and lose,” “addresss,” and “vist.” Some phrases are also unnatural for a friendly letter, such as “the job was shared to me” and “your name hit my mind.” More accurate collocations and careful proofreading would improve clarity and naturalness. Aim to use precise workplace language while keeping the tone warm and conversational.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex structures, for example, “As your qualification and experience is in Finance and Accounting, I assume you are the perfect match for the role.” The main message remains clear, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. The opening is a comma splice: “Hope you are doing well, I am writing…” should be divided or joined with a suitable conjunction. In “your qualification and experience is,” the subject and verb do not agree; use “qualifications and experience are” or restructure the sentence. The sentence beginning “You are honest…” also joins two independent clauses with a comma. More consistent control of agreement, sentence boundaries, and punctuation would strengthen the letter.
