Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Amit,

I hope you're doing well! I'm thrilled to hear that you have successfully completed of computer science degree and looking forward to start a career.

I'd like to suggest you a job oppotunity in my city chandigarh. I came across a job in a local IT company while scrolling indeed and requested them for further information about work duties, salary and working arrangements. Yesterday, I got their an email with thorough instructions and job discription and this particular vacancy has flexible schedule. Primarily you need to provide troubleshoot services to their customers over the phone.

I think that it'll be a great option for you as it can give you more flexibily. One more things if you want give your interview via video conference, the company is willing to arrange that as well.

If you're interested in this job, then you need to send your resume to their official human resources department through an email. Don't forget to include your previous work experience and highlight your strengths.

I hope you will be successfull in finding a job soon. Let me know if you need any further information.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you describe a customer-support role, explain that its flexible schedule may suit Amit, and give an application route by email. The letter is relevant and maintains a friendly tone. The job duties are clear in outline, but the description is brief, and the suitability explanation relies mainly on flexibility rather than linking the role to his computer science background or other strengths. The application instructions could also be more specific—for example, naming the documents to attach or explaining how to find the HR contact. This covers the task well overall, while fuller development of these details would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The information follows a clear, useful sequence: you introduce the opportunity, describe the work, explain why it may suit Amit, and then outline how to apply. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and the closing is appropriate for a friendly letter. Linking phrases such as “I think” and “If you're interested” make the purpose of each section easy to follow. Some connections could be smoother: the video-interview detail appears within the suitability paragraph without much explanation of why it matters, and the job description and application details could be grouped more deliberately. Overall, progression is clear; more purposeful links between related details would make the organisation feel even more controlled.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range for the topic, including relevant terms such as “job opportunity,” “working arrangements,” “flexible schedule,” “troubleshoot services,” and “human resources department.” These help communicate the role and application process. There are, however, several spelling and word-choice problems, including “oppotunity,” “discription,” “flexibily,” and “successfull.” Some phrasing is also unnatural: “requested them for further information” and “got their an email” do not express the intended meaning idiomatically. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and polish. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for applying for jobs and describing technical support work.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including the conditional “If you're interested in this job” and the reason clause “as it can give you more flexibility.” The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “completed of computer science degree” needs a different article and preposition pattern, while “looking forward to start” requires a gerund after “to.” In “One more things if you want give your interview,” the plural form and verb structure need correction. There are also punctuation-spacing issues, such as “job, then.” Review verb patterns and article use, and proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
