Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you describe a manager’s role at a local ketchup company, explain that Mike is responsible and can solve problems, and give online application instructions. The examples of “looking after” tasks, helping employees, and tasting products make the job more concrete. However, some details are less fully explained: “timesetting” is unclear, and the application section lists documents and contact details without saying what information to include in the application or giving a clear next step beyond waiting for an interview invitation. The reasons for suitability are relevant but would be stronger with a specific example from your time studying together. Overall, the letter fulfils the task, though some ideas need clearer development and explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: the first paragraph introduces the vacancy and duties, the second explains why Mike may suit it, and the third describes how to apply. This logical progression makes the main message easy to follow, and phrases such as “Also” and “because” help connect ideas. To make the organisation more polished, use paragraphing and transitions that feel more natural for a friendly letter, and clarify links within longer sentences. For example, the application instructions combine the website, required documents, contact details, and interview process in one sentence, so the sequence is harder to follow. Separating these steps and using clear sequencing language would build on the coherent structure already present.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the job and application, including “solve problems,” “lead,” “employees,” “passport,” and “job interview.” This gives you enough range to communicate the main points, and some phrases show an attempt to be specific about the work. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “suiltable,” “timesetting,” “malfunctions,” and “reagars” are problematic, while “taste all the products to be more confident” does not express the intended quality-checking idea naturally. “In my point of view” is also an awkward phrase in this context. Choose standard workplace expressions and check spelling; more precise wording would make the letter sound clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and a longer sentence describing the application process. The main meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For instance, “it is manager” needs an article and a clearer job-title construction, while “This works involves” has an incorrect possessive form and verb agreement. In “how you responsible,” the verb “are” is missing, and the final application sentence joins several independent ideas without effective punctuation. Aim to check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, especially in longer sentences. Breaking the application instructions into shorter sentences would help you show your ideas with greater accuracy.
