Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address the situation as a friendly letter and give relevant reassurance, including that the job relates to your friend’s previous experience. However, the main task points are only minimally covered. You say you have found a job and that it is “not much paying,” but do not identify the role, company, or the work it involves. Suitability is asserted rather than explained: “it suits according to yours past job experince” gives no specific link to your friend’s skills or background. You mention sending a résumé and preparing for an interview, but the application process remains unclear, including where or how to submit it. To strengthen the response, describe the position and duties, explain the match with a concrete example, and give clear application steps.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable opening, a sequence of related points, and a friendly closing, so the reader can follow its general purpose. The ideas move from your friend’s financial situation to the job, then to the résumé and interview. However, most of the content is compressed into one long paragraph, and the progression is not clearly signposted. Several ideas run together in sentences joined mainly by “and,” while “but,” “hopefully,” and “no doubt” do not always make the relationship between points clear. The closing is also separated without a clear transition. Use short paragraphs for the job, its suitability, and application instructions, and connect each point with clear, accurate linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to the situation, such as “expenses,” “living cost,” “resume,” “application,” “interview,” and “past job experiences.” These choices help convey the general topic. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the letter difficult to read, including “exxpenses,” “grocrys,” “porceed,” and “acheivments.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “suffering now a days” and “its suits according to yours past job experince.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise job-related vocabulary—such as the position’s duties, required skills, and application deadline—would also help you explain the opportunity clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to combine ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining the job’s pay, suitability, and likely selection. However, these attempts are often faulty, and the response relies heavily on simple clauses joined together, limiting grammatical range. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequent: the opening runs several sentences together, and the final advice about interview questions is not clearly separated. There are also problems with capitalization and sentence structure, such as beginning with lowercase “i” and writing “you will glad to know.” These issues sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise forming complete sentences, using full stops and commas accurately, and checking basic verb forms and sentence patterns.
