Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Alex,

Hope you are doing well. I am writing a letter regarding a job which I finds for you and I believe you are the right person to working in this modern company.

I saw an advertisement on a newspaper, the company " Right Place" is looking dedicated and professional employee as a role of Travel Consultant. Then I think about you because you have a 2 years dipolma of RCIC Traveller field and 1 year work experience in a previous company with same posiiton.

As your academic background and work experience align with the job and it would be suitable for you to work in this company. Moreover, I also read the job description and it matches with your job duties and role. Apart from this, they are looking for a person who able to commuincate with clients and clarify their concerns.

For the applying you need to go to company website and then press the career column after that you will get a full information about the roles and responisibilities, pay rates, documents requirements and working hours. If you need any help while you are applying then please let me know.

Hopefully you will get it. Best of luck for the future.

Yours lovingly

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you identify a Travel Consultant vacancy, explain that Alex’s qualification and previous experience are relevant, and give a route for applying through the company website. The letter is clearly directed to a friend and maintains an appropriate, supportive purpose. Some details are less fully developed, however. The description of the work is mostly inferred from the job title and the need to communicate with clients; you could explain typical duties, such as arranging itineraries or advising travellers. The application instructions mention the careers section but do not say what Alex should submit or how to complete the application. Adding these practical details would make the response more complete and useful.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The information is arranged in a sensible sequence: you introduce the vacancy, explain why Alex may suit it, and then describe how to apply. Separate paragraphs help the reader follow these stages, and links such as “Moreover” and “Apart from this” show how supporting points relate. This is already a coherent overall arrangement. To make the progression more natural and flexible, avoid stacking several ideas into long sentences with “and” or “then,” particularly in the application paragraph. Use clearer sentence boundaries and refer back to the job or company consistently. A more purposeful closing that invites Alex to send you the application or ask for further details would also connect the final paragraph more smoothly to the letter’s purpose.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “Travel Consultant,” “work experience,” “job description,” and “clients,” so the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts at more specific workplace language, such as “roles and responsibilities.” However, several spelling errors and unnatural word combinations reduce precision: “dipolma,” “posiiton,” “commuincate,” and “documents requirements” are examples. Phrases such as “a role of Travel Consultant” and “press the career column” are understandable but not idiomatic. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and proofread spelling, especially in key job-related terms. The suggestions below offer more suitable alternatives for some of these expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the reason clause in “because you have…” and the conditional “If you need any help…”. The message remains understandable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “a job which I finds” should use a verb agreeing with “I,” while “the right person to working” needs an infinitive after “to.” The opening fragment “Hope you are doing well” could be made into a complete sentence, and “As your academic background and work experience align…” is not joined clearly to the following clause. Review these patterns and use full stops to separate ideas; this will improve accuracy while preserving your range of sentence forms.
