Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you describe Iconic Ltd’s data-security work and US operations, explain that your shared cybersecurity studies make the role suitable, and offer to send an online application link. The letter is relevant and maintains a friendly tone. The suitability explanation is partly developed, especially through your shared field of study, but other details are less clear: “you may stay in US during your employment” does not explain the job arrangement, and the travel benefit is not clearly connected to the role. The application instructions also stop at the promise of a link, without saying what information or documents to submit. Clarifying these points would make the response more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter follows a clear progression from greeting and personal news to the job, its suitability, and the application process. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Lastly,” and “Let me know” make the overall organisation easy to follow. The sequence is logical, though some transitions feel mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear—for example, the move from the friend’s US home country to staying there during employment. Some sentences also run together because spaces after full stops are missing. Use transitions more selectively and make the links between the job’s location, travel, and the friend’s circumstances explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a friendly letter about employment, including relevant terms such as “data security,” “cyber crime,” “US operations,” and “interview.” These choices make the subject clear, and the tone is generally appropriate. There are, however, some inaccurate or unnatural word choices and collocations, such as “pursue your job,” “suit best to your personality,” and “get change to travel.” “Mnc company” is also imprecise, while “work with other companies to manage their data security” could be expressed more naturally. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more precise employment-related phrasing would improve fluency and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including the explanation beginning “As both of us completed our studies…” and the reason introduced by “because.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “your are,” “Its been while,” “This company mainly work,” “they working,” and “a email”; these involve verb forms, agreement, missing words, and articles. Punctuation and capitalisation also need attention, as in “letter.I” and the lower-case “india.” To improve accuracy, check subject–verb agreement and articles, and proofread sentence boundaries. Building on your existing sentence variety while correcting these patterns would make the letter more controlled.
