Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses the prompt clearly and maintains a consistent position throughout. The ideas are relevant, focusing on efficiency and mental clarity. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the reference to a 'survey' and a 'philosopher' lacks specific detail or depth, functioning more as placeholders than substantive evidence. While the task is fully addressed, the supporting arguments could be extended further to reach a higher band. The structure is logical, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'To embark on', 'Moreover', and 'To conclude this' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or unnatural, such as 'To embark on' (which is not standard usage for 'To begin with'). Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'individuals ones can think more widely'. Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is logical, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinion clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'allocated areas' and 'fosters', but there are also instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'I firmly inclined with this mindset' (should be 'I am firmly inclined toward') and 'achieving desire score' (should be 'achieving desired scores'). Spelling errors like 'beign' and 'phylosopher' occur, though they do not impede overall communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('those who does not reveals') and article usage ('in job-fair'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'The major reasons behind my stand is discussed'. While the writer attempts complex structures, the control over these is inconsistent. The errors are noticeable but rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended message.
