Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the benefits of maintaining a tidy environment. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive, particularly regarding the time-saving aspect. While the position is clear, the introduction is slightly formulaic and the conclusion does not fully synthesize the arguments. The example provided about workplace accidents is relevant and adds depth, but the overall discussion could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is limited, keeping it within the Band 6 range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Further on', and 'Likewise', although some of these are used in a slightly mechanical or repetitive way. Referencing is generally clear, though some sentences lack smooth transitions between them. The paragraphing is appropriate for the task, and the overall structure allows the reader to follow the argument without difficulty. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences flow more naturally into one another.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and sophistication. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good habits', 'things', and 'item'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'workplace injury' and 'organized', the range is limited. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as '98% accident ratio were decrease' instead of 'the accident rate decreased by 98%'. To achieve a higher score, the student should aim to use more precise and varied vocabulary to express ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'people are not holding enough time', 'you not need to give extra efforts', and 'many employees were not use to keep'. These errors occasionally impede the flow of reading, although the meaning remains clear. The use of articles and verb tenses is inconsistent. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and reducing repetitive sentence patterns to demonstrate better control over complex structures.
