Student answer (Band 7.0)
In today's era, maintaining hygiene has became a very essential need to work on. Few pupils believe that is crucial to keep our house and work area nice and clean by correctly placing everything at it's right place. I strongly agree with the notion as being tidy helps us to feel calm, relaxed and even helps us to stay healthy.
To begin with, keeping the areas where we spend most of our day to day time helps our mind to stay fresh and relaxed. To explain, if everything in a room or working desk is placed nicely and at correct place, then it reduces the chances of loosing or forgetting are important stuff. Moreover, we do not have to rush are mind to look for anything everywhere in that area. Even when we will see our tidy house all cleaned up with beautiful aura it will release some good hormones from our body. For example, in 2025 a survey conducted be local company at workplace found that people who keep their desks clean and arranged are observed to be more kind and calm then other employees. Thus, clean environment helps individuals to live peacefully.
Moving further, a well organised home and job area can make a a big effect on pupil's health and safety. To elaborate it, if a area where people live is clutter free and well organised, it can dramatically reduce the chances of falling or getting injury. Furthermore, if the house we live in is not cleaned since long, then it can invite various kinds of insects and germs which will cause infections and diseases amongst the family members. Also, dust can cause many respiratory diseases and allergies that forces people to seek medical attention. To cite an example, WHO found that almost 70% of food poisoning cases are filed due to not maintaining hygiene in kitchens that turns out to be a host for germs.
According to my perspective, keeping areas sanitary and clutter is significant to help to live a healthy and wonderful life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant and supported with examples, such as the reference to the WHO regarding food hygiene and the survey about workplace productivity. The argument is well-developed, moving from psychological benefits to physical health and safety. The response is balanced and directly answers the question about the importance of tidiness. To reach a higher band, ensure that the examples provided are more clearly linked to the main argument to avoid minor generalizations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Moving further', and 'To elaborate' are used effectively to guide the reader through the argument. Paragraphing is appropriate, with each paragraph focusing on a central theme. However, there are some minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the slightly awkward phrasing in the transition between sentences. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'sanitary', 'clutter-free', and 'respiratory diseases'. However, there are several word choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'maintaining hygiene has became a very essential need' (should be 'has become') and 'rush are mind' (should be 'rush our minds'). The use of 'pupils' to refer to people in general is also slightly unnatural in this context. While communication is never impeded, the range is limited by these persistent inaccuracies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses ('has became'), possessive pronouns ('it's' instead of 'its'), and subject-verb agreement ('a area', 'are important stuff'). Additionally, there are punctuation and spelling slips throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
