Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's fast-paced society, individuals hold various opinions on a wide range of topics. A number of people believe that it is vital to keep home and work areas clean and tidy and everything organised on proper place, but some are oppose it. I strongly agree with it due to several reasons, which will examine in the following paragraphs.

One of the most apparent reasons is that a tidy environment can improve productivity and efficiency. When items are well organised, individuals can find easily what they need without wasting time searching on wrong place. For instance, in a workplace, employees who maintain organised desks and documents are able to accomplish their tasks on proper time and meet deadlines more easily. In addition, a clean environment can reduce distractions, allowing people to concentrate better upon their tasks. In this way, they can perform well at a higher level.

Another point that should not be overlooked is that tidiness contributes to mental well-beings and reduce stress. To clarify this, disorganized spaces can create feeling of anxiety and lack of control. To exemplify this, individuals who keep their homes clean feel more relaxed and confident. It improve focus, motivation and overall satisfaction when completing tasks.

In conclusion, I would like to restate that keeping homes and workplaces tidy enhances productivity and supports mental well-being. I believe that organisation and tidiness are essential as it contribute to both efficiency and quality of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of tidiness. However, the essay is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. While the ideas regarding productivity and mental well-being are relevant, they are somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your examples with more specific detail or personal anecdotes. The conclusion is a bit repetitive, and the overall length constraint prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic. Ensure you meet the word count requirement to allow for full development of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'For instance', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between sentences could be smoother. The referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas is slightly hindered by the brevity of the text. To improve, try to use a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'fast-paced', 'productivity', and 'disorganized'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'on proper place' (should be 'in its proper place') and 'mental well-beings' (should be 'mental well-being'). The vocabulary is functional but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'some are oppose it' (should be 'some oppose it'), 'which will examine' (should be 'which I will examine'), and 'It improve' (should be 'It improves'). These errors occur frequently enough to be noticeable but do not prevent communication. To achieve a higher score, you need to increase the accuracy of your complex sentences and pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
