Student answer (Band 6.0)

A secition of society believes that keeping your home and work area clean and well mannered with everything on its place is manadtory. In my opinion, managing your living space and workplace is really impprtant as it helps to find things easily when there is a quick need of them and it looks good.

It is really easy to find important belongings if everything is well mannered. If the things are not properly orgainzed,it makes difficult for the person to find things. For instance,if an individual tends to find an important file at the workplace. If the documents are not well organized,it is going to take hours for the person to locate it.In contrast,if the things are properly mannered, the individual can have it in a minute. This could save a lot of time of the person.

Additionally,a nice well managed place looks amazing. It appears to put a good impression on the people. Also,it make the person feel calm and positive. As everybody loves a clean environment. For example, one day,a person's friend arrives at the workplace.Everything looks good as things are properly organized. This puts a really good impression on the individual and they feel good.On the other side of coin,if the place is messy. It directly affects the good impression.Which is going to directly affects the behaviour of the person at the moment.

In conclusion,I just want to mention that it is really a good habit to take care of the home and workarea.Keeping things tidy not only make the person feel good but also puts a positive impact on the person who arrives at the place.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion that keeping spaces tidy is important. The ideas are relevant, focusing on efficiency and the psychological benefits of a clean environment. However, the development is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument about finding things is repeated in the second paragraph, and the point about 'impressions' is revisited multiple times. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your ideas with more varied examples or deeper analysis rather than restating the same points. The position is consistent throughout, but the overall depth of the response is limited by the repetitive nature of the arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'In contrast', and 'In conclusion' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with punctuation that affect the flow. For example, there are several instances where spaces are missing after commas and periods (e.g., 'mandatory. In', 'organized,it'). These errors make the text feel slightly disjointed. Improving the use of punctuation and varying the transition words would help the ideas flow more naturally and improve the overall coherence of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks variety and precision. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'good', 'nice', and 'well mannered'. The phrase 'well mannered' is incorrectly used here; it typically refers to a person's behavior, not the state of a room. A more appropriate term would be 'organized' or 'tidy'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'secition', 'manadtory', and 'impprtant'. These errors do not prevent understanding, but they do limit the range of vocabulary demonstrated. To improve, try to incorporate more precise adjectives and nouns related to organizational habits.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it make the person feel', 'it is going to directly affects') and missing articles. Punctuation is a significant issue, particularly the lack of spacing after punctuation marks, which is a consistent error throughout the text. While the meaning is generally clear, these frequent errors in basic grammar and mechanics prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring correct punctuation spacing.
