Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion on the importance of tidiness. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments provided. While the ideas regarding efficiency and atmosphere are relevant, they are not fully developed. The conclusion is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence, which indicates a failure to adequately address all parts of the task. To improve, you must expand on your examples and ensure that your essay reaches the required length to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with' and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas is somewhat mechanical, and the paragraphing is hindered by the incomplete final paragraph. The logical flow is generally easy to follow, but the lack of a finished conclusion impacts the overall coherence of the piece. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, fully developed structure that leads naturally into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'very essential' and 'well organized' are used, but there is little attempt to use more sophisticated or precise vocabulary. There are also some minor collocation errors, such as 'at correct place' (should be 'in the correct place') and 'makes several compartments' (should be 'creates several compartments'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to productivity, environment, and organization to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('home's offers', 'it might creates') and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency to improve your accuracy.
