Student answer (Band 5.5)
The role of masses in keeping their surroundings neat and clean is widely debated, with many people claming that the benefits it offers are no match with their drawbacks. However, I entirely accept this and i will explain why in this essay.
Initiating with the merits of placing everything in an organised manner. The most perspective one is that good vibes. To explain, when individuals keep their workplace or house neat and clean it may give them a positivity and they may concentrate more on their work as well as at home they can feel more relaxed. Moreover, by making their surroundings organized, they may gain more success because they are working in good environment which creates different type of energy and they cannot feel bored while you doing work on specific target to earn profit.
Another aspect of this argument is that health related problems. To clarify it, individuals may keep them safe from diseases by keeping their house or workplace tidy as if you are working or living in a place which not clean and everything is placed here and there, then there may some insects under a uncleaned things which may affect your health. For example, a survey conducted by World Health Organization in 2023 revealed that 80% of people are affected by diseases at their workplace by not keeping their surroundings clean.
To encapsulate, from the argument outlined above one can conclude that the benefits of keeping your living place as well as you working place tidy are too great to ignore.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion in favor of maintaining a tidy environment. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the essay touches on mental well-being and health, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the second paragraph mentions 'good vibes' and 'different type of energy' without clearly explaining the link between organization and productivity. The example provided regarding the WHO survey appears fabricated and lacks specific context, which is a common issue in IELTS writing. To reach a higher band, you should provide more logical, real-world examples and expand on the 'why' behind your arguments rather than just stating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Initiating with the merits' and 'The most perspective one' are unnatural and do not effectively link ideas. Additionally, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. While there is a logical progression from mental health to physical health, the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak due to repetitive sentence structures and awkward phrasing. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'claming' (spelling error), 'perspective' (used incorrectly for 'persuasive' or 'significant'), and 'uncleaned things'. The range is somewhat limited, relying on basic adjectives like 'neat', 'clean', and 'good'. To improve, you should focus on using more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to productivity, hygiene, and psychological benefits. Avoid using informal or vague phrases like 'good vibes' in a formal essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('there may some insects'), incorrect pronoun usage ('keeping them safe' instead of 'keeping themselves safe'), and awkward sentence construction ('as if you are working or living in a place which not clean'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from achieving a higher score. Focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for subject-verb agreement.
