Student answer (Band 6.5)

Organized places look more beautiful and attractive whether it is a home or an office. Some people believe that it is essential to maintain cleanliness in the house and office and keep all the things on their right place to look organized. I totally agree with the statement and I will present my viewpoints in subsequent paragraphs.

Firstly, neat and tidy places look attractive and create positive environment. When the office and house is not cleaned then it gives very negative vibe which not only affects mental health but also affects the physical health of people who are living there. On the other hand proper maintained places bring positive energy and create better environment for work, worker's focus more on work instead on a messy surrounding. As a result, it helps to increase the productivity.

Furthermore, Organization of the things in office reduces chances of accidents and workers can save time which they waste on finding files or other important things in a mess. If the sitting arrangements in an office has done properly, then it creates more space for walk around and as a result it reduces the events, where someone can hurt themselves by collide with a table or a chair. In addition to this, when things are on their right place, then its easy to find them when their need and that saved time. For example, if worker need a pen and due to mess on table it could take lots of time to find a pen.

In conclusion, it is very important to keep personal and professional place tidy and organized to make their look attractive, spread positive vibes, mitigate the risk of small accidents in office and to save time which people waste to find important things when surrounding is very messy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas regarding mental health, productivity, and safety are relevant and well-supported. However, the development of these points is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the conclusion, which restates the points made in the body paragraphs without adding further insight. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, fully explored aspect of the topic rather than circling back to previously mentioned benefits. Overall, the task is addressed well, and the arguments are logical and easy to follow.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'In addition to this' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For instance, the phrase 'that saved time' at the end of the third paragraph is grammatically incomplete and disrupts the cohesion. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents will help create a more natural, sophisticated flow between your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'mitigate', 'productivity', and 'surrounding'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'proper maintained places' (should be 'properly maintained') and 'collide with a table' (should be 'colliding with'). You also rely on some basic phrasing like 'things' and 'places' repeatedly. To improve, try to use more precise synonyms and pay closer attention to word forms and collocations to ensure your writing sounds more natural and professional.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('worker's focus' instead of 'workers focus'), article usage ('the office and house is not cleaned'), and prepositional errors ('on their right place' instead of 'in their right place'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and prepositional accuracy to improve your overall control.
