Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the importance of tidiness at home and work. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide reasons such as efficiency and positive mental states, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the explanation of how home habits translate to work habits is somewhat circular. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or explore the consequences of a lack of organization in more detail. The position is clear, but the overall development remains basic and lacks the extension required for a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often inaccurate. Phrases like 'The first reason it is important to must clean' and 'The second reason is It is important' are repetitive and do not flow naturally. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in addition') and ensure that your sentences are connected logically rather than just listed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'good', 'clean', 'organised', and 'thing'. There are also several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'place thing in the correct place' instead of 'placing items in their designated spots' and 'energetic source' instead of 'source of energy'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequent misuse of common terms prevent you from achieving a higher band. Try to incorporate more precise synonyms and learn common collocations to improve your expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede the flow of reading. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('Many of people say'), missing auxiliary verbs ('it is important to must clean'), and incorrect sentence structures ('if everything in the correct place so we already know'). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often grammatically flawed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of articles, verb tenses, and prepositions, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
