Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this modern and upgraded world, people believe that maintaining cleanliness at house as well as at working station keeps them hygenic and healthy. I agree with this statement as everything looks more organised and easy to trace the document or thing. My views are explained below with examples for clear imagination.

First, keeping the home and workplace tidy makes the area looks more attractive, professional, and hygienic. It will help to change the perspective of judging one's personality and behaviour. For instance, people often finds it more difficult to locate the belongings in a messy place rather than an organized place. Nowadays, even doctors and teachers are also spreading the awareness of keeping hygiene to stay fit while boosting immunity. Theres a saying as well that a healthy brain starts to form with the way one adapt the learnings.

Secondly, children often learn from their parents, and it will help them to adapt good things at an early stage rather than regretting later, once they are grown up. A neat and clean place creates a positive aura and helps others to grow and achieve the goal at a faster pace. People complete their tasks in due date, with well maintained and organized place. however, this helps the manager to allocate, train and communicate the tasks easily to their Subordinate staff.

Finally, clean and organised place forms a clear route to trace the documents, and also maintains the good reputation others point of view. People respect the other person based on their living style and knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion in favor of maintaining a tidy environment. The ideas are relevant, focusing on professional benefits, hygiene, and the influence on children. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the point about 'boosting immunity' is mentioned but not logically connected to the act of cleaning, and the argument regarding 'due dates' is vague. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, concrete examples or elaborate further on the causal links between tidiness and the benefits mentioned. The position is consistent throughout, but the depth of analysis remains limited.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First', 'Secondly', and 'Finally', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'There's a saying as well that...' and the abrupt start of the final paragraph. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the sentence '...maintains the good reputation others point of view', which lacks a clear grammatical connection to the previous clause. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their opinion clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'aura' and 'perspective', but also some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For instance, 'working station' is less natural than 'workplace' or 'workspace', and 'easy to trace the document' is slightly awkward; 'easy to locate documents' would be more precise. Additionally, there are minor errors like 'hygenic' (spelling) and 'adapt the learnings' (collocation). The range is sufficient to convey meaning but lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the quality of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people often finds'), incorrect article usage ('a neat and clean place'), and punctuation errors, such as the lowercase 'h' in 'however' at the start of a sentence. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as '...maintains the good reputation others point of view'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is recommended.
