Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear opinion that tidiness is beneficial. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention time-saving and aesthetic pleasure, the supporting arguments are repetitive and rely on unsupported claims, such as the specific percentages regarding 'lazy' people. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced examples and ensure that your arguments are fully explored rather than just stated. The conclusion is also very brief and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Examplify' is used incorrectly as a transition, and phrases like 'the above mentioned' are awkward. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between time-saving and the statistics provided is unclear. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'organization things' instead of 'organizing things' and 'its provides pleasant' instead of 'it provides pleasure'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with collocations, such as 'searching the things' or 'imported papers' (likely meaning 'important'). To improve, focus on learning word families and common collocations to express your ideas more naturally and accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('researcher prove', 'family members feels'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary comma after 'I believe that'. The use of 'its' instead of 'it is' or 'it's' is a recurring error. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency.
