Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people say that it is important to organise everything to make your home and workplace clean and neat. I completely agree with this view and I will explain my reasons in the following paragraphs.

One of the main reasons I agree is that cleanliness gives positive vibes. When you are coming to your home after a long working day and you see a tidy house, it will freshen up our mind and body both. You can take rest without any worry.

Another strong argument in support of my view is that you can find your things easily if you make your office and house uncluttered. Some people have a habit not to put the important documents in a suitable place which might be difficult to find out whenever they need. Due to this, they might be get late or miss an important events. If you put everything in the right place then you can find them easily and it saves your time. However, it is difficult to organise everything everytime but you can make a habit to do it. If your room and workplace looks clean and tidy , it calms the body and give positive effects on our brain so that we can do our work with an extra focus. Also, when others come to our place, they see the neat room then it gives an impression which might be helpful in future. So, to grow personally and professionally organisation of everything is a key factor.

The reasons mentioned above clearly support my opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of organization. The ideas are relevant, focusing on mental well-being and efficiency. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention that tidiness helps with finding documents and creates a positive impression, these points could be extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis to reach a higher band. The conclusion is very brief and does not summarize the main points effectively. To improve, ensure each body paragraph fully explores the implications of your arguments rather than listing them in a somewhat repetitive manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'One of the main reasons', 'Another strong argument', and 'However'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For instance, the transition between the benefits of finding things and the difficulty of maintaining a habit is a bit abrupt. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'they see the neat room then it gives an impression'. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'uncluttered', 'professionally', and 'organisation'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some inaccuracies in collocation, such as 'freshen up our mind and body both' or 'give positive effects on our brain'. To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions, and ensure that word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'they might be get late' (should be 'they might get late'), 'everytime' (should be 'every time'), and 'give positive effects' (should be 'gives'). Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent in places. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and subject-verb agreement to improve your accuracy.
