Student answer (Band 6.5)

it is utterly debatable whether your home or workplace need to be fully cleaning and organized with everything on its dedicated place or not. I undoubtedly agree with the former view as hygiene is an essential aspect to enjoy a joyful life.

On the one hand, the most prominent point is that people should clean their houses or the offices on daily basis which can allow them to stay hygienic which results in staying away from infections and diseases. To elaborate on it, nowadays most of the infections spread in unhygienic areas, various doctors/healthcare workers suggests us to keep our surroundings tidy which can reduce risk of germs by 70%.

Furthermore, it should be in habit on every person to stay in a dust free and well organized place. Not only does a clean area attracts positive energy but also lifts everyone's mood up with its wonderful vibe.

On the other hand, the more a person is keeping his/her surroundings clean the more they are helping to reduce waste related issues on a global level. To explain it, in some nations there are a lot of cities which are utterly dirty and causing huge issues such as global warming. if human beings will build and habit to stay clean as well as to keep surroundings clean then more and more people can be influenced by them which will pave a path for us to be habitual to maintain tidiness at a global level.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that developing a routine to stay clean and maintained individually can help to boost cleaning levels overall which with lead to reduce health risks and enjoy an absolute charming life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the health benefits of hygiene and the psychological impact of a tidy environment. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding global warming and waste management is a bit tenuous and lacks a logical connection to the prompt about keeping one's home or workplace tidy. While the main points are supported, the explanation could be more nuanced to reach a higher band. The position is consistent, but the supporting arguments would benefit from more concrete, real-world examples rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or forced, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the link between individual tidiness and global warming. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural, sophisticated structure. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the essay is easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinions clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations, such as 'pave a path' and 'dedicated place.' However, there are also some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'fully cleaning' instead of 'fully cleaned' and 'it should be in habit on every person' instead of 'it should be a habit for every person.' These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing. A wider range of topic-specific vocabulary would help elevate the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms and prepositions, such as 'doctors/healthcare workers suggests' (subject-verb agreement) and 'which with lead to' (should be 'which will lead to'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor issues with sentence construction. The writer demonstrates an ability to use complex structures, but the frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching the higher bands where the majority of sentences are error-free.
