Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, a lot of people are debating over a fact that we should keep our house and workplace tidy, with putting everything at designated location. As everycoin has two sides, there are people who follows this principal while others ignore. I personally agree with the fact that we should follow the procedure to keep everything organised, and I will list down two main reasons to support my vision.

A primary reason behind this is an increased productivity at work. Many people spent countless hours in their entire working life to find certain item or file. Humans usually gets frustrated when they have to spent more than usual time doing one activity such as finding a missing report. By keeping eveything organized and tidy, they could eliminate time wasting and be more productive. Such as, keeping a bottle of extra dish washing liquid under the kitchen sink is a good practice, storing report files in extra cabinet in your own office or having an extra pen during exam is a perfect pratice.

On the other hand, keeping your house and work desk place tidy shows your character and personality. It defines personal's own values and beliefs. For instance, a gigantic villa with luxury cars and boats near the lack with unorganized backyard is waste of money and showcase immaturity of an owner. On the contrary, a small apartment but with proper designing and layout with beautiful colour contrast, potrays the vision and desire of a house owner towards his compact but beautiful home.

Therefore, I strongly believe that young students and children should learn about the organisation skills. These practices shape our character and enhace our vision by teaching us to follow a routine. Which helps us to be succesful in our personal and professional life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear personal position and supporting it with relevant arguments. The writer introduces two primary reasons: increased productivity at work and character reflection. Ideas are extended with examples, such as keeping extra dishwashing liquid or filing reports, although some examples are slightly unconventional for a workplace context. The overall stance is maintained throughout the essay. The essay is appropriately developed and fulfills the prompt's requirements effectively, demonstrating a clear understanding of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a clear logical organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately, separating the two main ideas distinctly. Cohesive devices are generally used to guide the reader, such as 'A primary reason behind this' and 'On the other hand'. However, referencing and transitions are occasionally mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting a sentence with 'Which helps us', which creates a sentence fragment. Despite minor cohesion flaws, the overall arrangement is coherent and easy to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'productivity', 'unorganized backyard', and 'potrays'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and collocations, such as 'principal' instead of 'principle', 'eveything', 'enhace', and 'potrays'. Additionally, phrases like 'keep everything at designated location' lack necessary articles. While these errors do not impede communication, they reflect a Band 6 level where vocabulary control is developing but inconsistent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures like conditional ideas and relative clauses. There are, however, frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement errors ('Many people spent', 'Humans usually gets'), missing articles ('define personal's own values'), and a sentence fragment at the end ('Which helps us to be succesful...'). These errors cause occasional distractions for the reader, placing the grammar squarely in the Band 6 category.
