Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary era, it is essential to keep our place clean tidy whether it is a home or a workplace. According to my view, to organize our personal space makes our mind calm and more productive, whereas having a stuff everywhere create disturbance in individuals life.

On the one hand, organised things help people to be confident in workplace and give chance to be more productive. For example, on workplace individuals have many items which can cause disturbance, when everything is organized one can find thing easily and can work fast. Moreover, it can create smart personality among the colleges. Apart from that, same with home, if our home is clean and organise not only it is easy to find a things for olderly people but also feel protective for family who have a babies in their home. Hence, individuals can feel comfortable and safe.

On the other hand, working or living in messy place often provide troubles. To illustrate this, a person who is working in messy place have a often confusion because whenever they see around their area, they often find garbage and things which are not placing in correct manners. Furthermore, sometimes, if citizens is working in a hurry they can hurt their self. At the end of the result, they can not concentrate on their work and also can feel unsafe.

In conclusion, having a place which is well organise often generate feeling of sense of achievement and show our one type of skills of organisation whereas place with full of things or stuff can cause health releted issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear opinion on whether keeping a home and workplace tidy is important. The writer introduces a definite stance in the introduction, stating that organization makes the mind calm and improves productivity, while clutter creates disturbance. Ideas are extended throughout the body paragraphs, comparing the benefits of an organized environment in both professional and domestic settings with the negative consequences of a messy place. While some of the supporting examples and explanations are slightly repetitive and could be further elaborated with concrete real-life scenarios rather than general assertions, the overall task requirements are adequately met. The position remains clear from beginning to end, satisfying the descriptor criteria for Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear four-paragraph structure comprising an introduction, two body paragraphs representing contrasting views, and a conclusion. Logical signposts such as On the one hand, On the other hand, and In conclusion are utilized to guide the reader through the argumentation. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. For instance, referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'same with home' and 'at the end of the result.' Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct arguments, but internal transitions between sentences within the body paragraphs occasionally lack fluidity, resulting in a somewhat disjointed progression. These features align closely with the Band 6 descriptor for this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'contemporary era,' 'disturbance,' and 'concentration.' However, there are frequent word-choice, collocation, and word-formation errors throughout the text. Examples include 'clean tidy' instead of 'clean and tidy,' 'stuff everywhere' where 'clutter' is more appropriate, 'on workplace' instead of 'in the workplace,' 'colleges' instead of 'colleagues,' 'olderly people' instead of 'elderly people,' and 'health releted issue' instead of 'health-related issues.' Despite these inaccuracies, the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main message without severely impeding communication, placing the response firmly at Band 5.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing conditional structures and relative clauses such as 'when everything is organized one can find thing easily' and 'a person who is working in messy place have a often confusion.' However, grammatical accuracy is weak, with a high frequency of errors including missing articles ('a home,' 'working in messy place'), subject-verb agreement issues ('things is not placing'), incorrect pluralization ('find thing,' 'a things'), and awkward phrasing ('hurt their self'). Punctuation is basic but generally manageable. Because the frequent errors cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the majority of sentences from being error-free, a score of 5.0 is appropriate.
