Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people believe that keeping your office and home organized and clean has a significant importance. My opinion is also the same. This essay will further elaborate my opinion with the help of relevant examples.
A clean and organized household is a reflection of the people who live there and same can be said about a workplace. This means if your house and office is well-organized and tidy, it gives an impression that you are someone who takes good care of your personal hygiene as well. There is a saying that cleanliness is half the faith, it means that you should follow a strict cleaning routine like you would follow your religion. This includes not only cleaning yourself but also the places you spend most of your time, that is your home and your workplace. For example, a friend of mine got fired from his job because his employer found his desk-space dirty and there were snack wrappers under the table from days ago. Apparently, this made his boss think that such an untidy person would not be beneficial for his company because he lacks such a basic attribute, hence a lack in professionalism.
Furthermore, keeping everything in its correct place has a significant importance in my opinion. This does not only look aesthetically pleasing but also helps you avoid the inconvenience of losing your things. By this I mean that organising stuff helps you remember exactly where everything is, so its easier to find it while keeping the space tidy at the same time. For example, for someone like me who has a tendency of forgetting where I put a certain thing because of a weak memory, putting everything in its correct place is a blessing in disguise. I organize all my things myself whether its my home or office, this helps me find things very easily. I also have OCD so keeping things organized gives every space a clean look which helps in preventing sudden frustration.
In conclusion, keeping everything well-organized and clean is very important not only for your overall impression in society but also for your phyical and mental well-being. Also, adapting strict cleanliness routine also helps to encourage other people to keep clean, especially children.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position agreeing with the importance of keeping homes and workplaces tidy, and you support your view with relevant examples. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others, which is characteristic of this level. For instance, while the example of your friend losing his job vividly illustrates the workplace aspect, other points such as the cultural proverb about cleanliness or the mention of mental well-being are introduced but remain somewhat under-developed rather than being fully extended with deeper analysis. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that every main idea is thoroughly explored and linked back to your core argument with equal depth.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, separating your introduction, body paragraphs on the workplace and home, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices to connect your thoughts, such as 'Furthermore', 'For example', and 'In conclusion'. However, cohesion is sometimes a bit mechanical or repetitive, and referencing can occasionally feel slightly loose, as seen with phrases like 'same can be said about' where an article or pronoun is missing. To move up to the next band, you should aim for a more flexible and natural range of cohesive links, ensuring that the transitions between sentences and paragraphs flow more smoothly without relying on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'aesthetically pleasing', 'blessing in disguise', and 'personal hygiene'. Your vocabulary choices successfully communicate your message, but there are some inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form—such as writing 'has a significant importance' instead of 'is of significant importance', or 'phyical' and 'cleaning routine' where a broader range of terms could be employed. These minor errors do not impede communication, but to achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider and more precise range of vocabulary with greater awareness of natural collocations and fewer slip-ups.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You make effective use of a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating relative clauses and conditional structures reasonably well, such as 'For example, for someone like me who has a tendency of forgetting...'. There are some grammatical and punctuation errors present, such as comma splices ('I organize all my things myself whether its my home or office, this helps me find things very easily'), missing apostrophes ('its' instead of 'it's'), and minor subject-verb agreement or article slips. However, these errors rarely impede communication and your meaning remains clear throughout. To attain a higher band, you should strive for a higher proportion of error-free complex sentences and finer control over punctuation.
