Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is quite important to keep our stuff organised in both, the office and home. This essay will describe the importance of cleaniness and organising the items in proper way.

Many individuals argue that our homes and workspaces should always be clean. I think it is very important to organise the items, used in our routine life, in a proper way. The religion Islam has also made it crucial for his believers and declared the purity and tidiness half of the faith. If we think about our daily activities, keeping the things at their designated place, helps us to find them easily. For instance, when someone is back from his work, he should keep the car key at key-hanger. In such case it will be very easy to take it from same place. We might have also experienced that some of our friends got late to some party/office because they lost the car key.

On the other hand, some people take it very serious and their behaviour reflects that they got stress even from little untidy or unorganized things. For example, some colleagues have been seen that they feel allergy even if they see a pencil on the desk (workspace). They will take it crucial and will not feel comfortable untill the pencil is placed back into the pencil container.

As of my opinion, we should try to keep our belongings neat and tidy and all the things should also be organised. However, we should also avoid from over thinking and should ignore the minor displacements. In that way we can spent an happy and organised life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you support keeping belongings organised, while recognising that excessive concern about tidiness can cause stress. The examples of putting a car key on a hook and a colleague reacting to a pencil help address both sides of the issue, and the conclusion restates your balanced view. This covers the task well, but the ideas are not equally developed: the practical benefit of finding items is explained more fully than the possible drawbacks of being overly tidy. The reference to Islam is relevant to cleanliness, though its connection to keeping items organised could be made clearer. To strengthen the response further, explain the consequences of excessive tidiness and develop your examples with more precise detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure, moving from your position to supporting reasons, a contrasting point, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader follow this progression, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “However” make the shift in viewpoint clear. Some connections are less smooth or precise: “This essay will describe” is a formulaic opening, while “In such case” does not clearly refer back to the key-hanger example. The first two paragraphs also repeat the idea that items should be organised without always adding a distinct step to the argument. Use clearer referencing and make each paragraph’s purpose more distinct—for example, separate practical benefits from the religious point and explain how each supports your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “designated place,” “tidiness,” “workspace,” and “minor displacements,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as “over thinking” and “purity.” However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling forms are inaccurate or unnatural: “cleaniness,” “take it very serious,” “feel allergy,” and “spent an happy life.” “Stuff” is also informal for this essay, and “organise” and “organised” recur frequently. These features limit precision and naturalness. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for order and its effects, and check spelling and word forms; for instance, use “belongings” rather than “stuff” and “take it seriously” rather than “take it very serious.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If we think about our daily activities…” and a contrast introduced by “However.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “in both, the office and home” (the preposition and construction are faulty), “the items, used in our routine life” (the participial phrase is awkwardly attached), and “they feel allergy even if they see a pencil” (the clause structure needs a different construction). There are also errors in articles and agreement, as in “an happy life,” and in “we can spent.” Review articles, verb forms after modal verbs, and sentence construction, while continuing to use a mix of sentence types.
