Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely accepted that one should keep his home and workplace clean and organised. However, some people label this activity as a disease called obssessive copmulsive disorder. I firmly believe that one should keep his home and office organised and clean.
Firstly, there are several benefits of organising and placing in the correct place as it is time saving. One who put his things in designated place. he will complete his tasks without any distraction rather than those who do not put things in the correct place. They wasted lot of time in collecting things and waste most of their energy in the preparation. Moreover, dirty things and home lost their charm.
Secondly, cleanliness is a part of every religion. Every religion teaches us to take care of our body and things. Islam gives a lot importance to the hygeine. In addition to this, cleanliness is necessary to prevent spread of infectious and contagious disease. Those who keep their home clean, have less chance of getting disease.
For instance, during Covid pendemic, doctors and health care specialists encourage frequent hand washing.
On the other hand, very few people misuse the term obsessive compulsive disorder, to hide their laziness and unleanliness. Obssessive compulsive disorder is misnomer here. The actual meaning of OCD is frequent washing and cleaning of already organised and tidy things.
In conclusion, it is important to keep your home and your workplace clean because it is essential for both mental and physical wellbeing. It teaches you discipline and provide confidence to present their things in front of world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you support keeping homes and workplaces organised and clean. You address the question with relevant reasons, including saving time, religious teaching, and reducing the risk of illness, and the COVID example gives some support. This fully covers the core task and shows some development beyond a basic opinion. However, the points are not equally developed: the time-saving argument is difficult to follow, and the claim about OCD is presented as a generalisation rather than carefully explained. To strengthen the response further, explain one or two examples in more detail and distinguish ordinary tidiness from a clinical disorder accurately. The 10 words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the authoritative count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the argument. Overall, the ideas can be followed, but cohesion is sometimes mechanical and links between sentences are not always clear. For example, “One who put his things in designated place. he will complete his tasks” breaks the time-saving explanation into an incomplete sentence and an unclear follow-up. The paragraph about cleanliness and religion also moves quickly from religious teaching to disease prevention. Use complete sentences and make the relationship between each claim and its example explicit to create smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “designated place,” “distraction,” “infectious and contagious disease,” and “mental and physical wellbeing.” These choices show an attempt to express ideas beyond very basic language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural collocations are noticeable, including “obssessive copmulsive disorder,” “hygeine,” “pendemic,” and “misnomer.” Phrases such as “dirty things and home lost their charm” and “gives a lot importance” also sound unnatural or unclear. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main position, but they limit precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships, such as “place items in their proper locations” and “give importance to hygiene.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “Those who keep their home clean” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main message remains understandable, but some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms reduce accuracy. For example, “One who put his things in designated place. he will complete” contains a sentence fragment, an incorrect verb form, and faulty punctuation; “They wasted lot of time” shifts tense and omits an article, while “It teaches you discipline and provide confidence” has a subject–verb agreement error. Practise building complete sentences and checking that subjects and verbs agree. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied structures clearer.
