Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, Many people would agree that it is esssential to keep your work space and home clean, with a good housekeeping habit, and daily 5s practice. Good housekeeping lifestyle at home would reflect on your workspace, without you noticing it, since keeping things tidy has being part of your life.
To begin with, there are lots of benefit when you keep your home clean. household pests would not be found around your vercinity, which would be an advantage to your health. For instance, I use to live in an aprtment not far from the public market, and I observed that whenever I return, my kitchen utensils were always messed up with nuisance, because I dont immediately clean up after eating, which has attracted household creepy-crawly. Furthermore, I would agree that, my lifestyle at home, affecting me at my office. Because, I use to leave used coffee cups, empty cans and used writing pads on my desk, without keeping the place neat before close of work.
However, during the last safety moment at work, houseking was mentioned and my department was used as a practical example, with pictures of used cups and cans on my officespace displayed on the safty slide. My manager advised me to do better, and I felt embarrased, but I had to work on myself, and ensure I take the lesson learnt back home.
Finally, cleaniness is a personal responsibility everyone should practice. People also say that cleanliness is close to godliness. In my opinion, the benefit of cleaniness at home and in my workplace outweigh the demerits.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You give a clear opinion that keeping both home and workplace tidy is important, and you support it with relevant personal examples: pests in your kitchen and the untidy desk that was shown during a workplace safety presentation. These details make the response specific and address the question. However, the two settings are not explored equally: the home example explains a health consequence, while the workplace example focuses mainly on your embarrassment and your manager’s advice. The final claim that the benefits outweigh the “demerits” is not fully developed, since no disadvantages are explained. To strengthen the response, explain more directly why organisation matters in each setting and extend the consequences of your examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about home and work habits, a workplace incident, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing expressions such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” “However,” and “Finally” help signal progression. The personal examples also give the discussion a logical thread. At times, though, the links between ideas are abrupt or unclear. For example, “However” introduces the safety presentation, but the incident develops the previous point rather than contrasting with it. The opening paragraph also repeats the connection between home habits and work without clearly previewing the argument. Use transitions that show the actual relationship between ideas, and group the home and workplace explanations more deliberately.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “household pests,” “kitchen utensils,” “practical example,” and “personal responsibility,” and the examples are generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “daily 5s practice,” though this is not explained and may be unfamiliar to the reader. Several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “vercinity,” “houseking,” “cleaniness,” and “demerits.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “messed up with nuisance” and “household creepy-crawly.” Choose standard, precise expressions and check spelling carefully. A wider range of accurate collocations for cleanliness and organisation would make the argument sound more natural and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “since,” “whenever,” and “because,” and the main meaning is usually clear. However, some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “there are lots of benefit” needs plural agreement, while “keeping things tidy has being part of your life” uses an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “Furthermore, I would agree that, my lifestyle at home, affecting me at my office” is incomplete and has unclear clause structure. There are also issues with tense and sentence boundaries, as in “I use to live” and the comma after “agree that.” Review subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, and how to build complete clauses; these changes would improve control while preserving your varied sentence attempts.
