Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people argue that it is essential to keep our house and the workplace clean and neat in a well-organised manner. I personally believe in the same way that tidy home can bring peace of mind and positive thoughts.

To give a gist of it, unorganised things in the room will make our thoughts start juggling everywhere because of the randomly thrown items which eventually leads to a disturbed mindset. Moreover, many people cannot focus on their work and were left behind in completeing their daily tasks. For example, someone who always ranks the top position are very disciplined and punctual since they plan their day ahead without depending on others. a few of them were very keen about placing things in the particular areas only, which gives them satisfaction. As a result, it help them to be happy, healthy and successful in life.

Although some rich individuals might look poor based on their dressing style and grooming which may end up loosing their confidence. Furthermore, outside person's mentality and behaviour will differ once they observe your way of living. For instance, if you are a parent and you should be in a position to educate your children about how you grown up by living your life in a organised way. Finally, the young ones were also able to learn and follow their elders words.

In conclusion, a man's or a woman's personality and working style can be decided by simply looking at their living and work area. In my point of view, a tidy place helps a person to approach things differently when compared with others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that keeping spaces tidy is important, and you give relevant reasons involving peace of mind, concentration, confidence, and children learning from adults. The example about planning daily tasks helps connect organisation with success. However, some points are not fully explained or are only loosely linked to tidiness. The claim that top-ranking people are disciplined, for instance, needs a clearer explanation of how an organised home or workplace contributes to this. The paragraph about rich individuals’ appearance and other people’s reactions also shifts away from the main issue. Develop fewer reasons in more depth and use examples that directly show the effects of keeping spaces organised.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the main position is easy to identify. You use linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” to signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven: the discussion moves from concentration to high achievement, then to appearance and social judgement, without always making the connections explicit. Some transitions, including “To give a gist of it,” feel mechanical or do not introduce the point precisely. The reference to “a few of them” is also unclear. Organise each paragraph around one central reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for the topic, including “peace of mind,” “disciplined,” “punctual,” and “confidence.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, and you attempt more specific expressions such as “disturbed mindset.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes some sentences less clear. For example, “thoughts start juggling everywhere” and “ranks the top position” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “completeing” and “loosing” are also spelling errors. Aim for precise, conventional combinations and check spelling carefully. Using vocabulary such as “reduce distractions,” “achieve high grades,” and “lose confidence” would make the argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason-and-result structure with “which eventually leads to” and a conditional example beginning “if you are a parent.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “it help them” should be “it helps them,” while “someone who always ranks … are” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “if you are a parent and you should be” is not well formed, and the lowercase “a few” after a full stop shows a punctuation and capitalisation issue. Review agreement and tense consistency, and simplify sentences when you are unsure how to connect clauses.
