Student answer (Band 6.5)

Some individuals think that it is crucial to maintain the cleanliness of the places where we live and work. I agree with this notion it is necessary to keep the home and workplace tidy with proper organisation.

It is necessary to keep the home cleans for healthy living lifestyle. Clean home with daily sweaping, mopping and dusting helps to eliminate the risk of deseases and kill the bacteria. If the house regularly cleaned and the garbage puts outside in rubbish bins it reduces the food flies and bacteria ,therefore there can be less chance for family members to be sick. Moreover, proper organisation of furniture or household items mitigate the risk of injury for children and senior people who can easily get injured while walking or playing in the house.

Tidy workplace is important to save the time and improve the productivity. Organised workplace, proper labels on the containers and seperate filing with names and locations help workers to not only save time that they usually waste by searching bundle of files but also improve their productivity with proper consentration without stress of searching of files or stationery. Hence it is beneficial to keep the workplace tidy and maintained.

To conclude, cleanliness is not only improve the overall look of home or workplace but also reduces the risk of injuries. If the everything is kept in organised manners then there would be a more safety and healthy environment that would help to improve the personal and business growth because maintained home and workplace saves the time that employer and family members can utilise to do other urgent work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that homes and workplaces should be kept tidy. You address both settings and give relevant reasons, including health and safety at home and time-saving and productivity at work. The examples of cleaning, rubbish disposal, organising furniture, and labelling files help extend these points. The conclusion also returns to your main view. To strengthen the response further, develop the links between the examples and their effects more precisely; for instance, explain how a labelled filing system improves concentration or productivity rather than relying on a broad claim. The final point about personal and business growth is relevant but could be explained more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on the home and workplace, and a conclusion. Ideas progress logically within each paragraph, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Hence,” and “To conclude” make the relationships between points easy to follow. The two main body paragraphs also keep their focus on distinct aspects of the topic. Some connections are less smooth where several effects are packed into one sentence, particularly the discussion of cleaning, rubbish, flies, bacteria, and illness. The conclusion repeats earlier benefits rather than synthesising them. Use referencing and transitions more naturally, and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “productivity,” “concentration,” “proper organisation,” and “risk of injury,” and your meaning is generally understandable. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and limit precision: examples include “cleans,” “sweaping,” “deseases,” “seperate,” and “consentration.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “food flies,” “bundle of files,” and “organised manners.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended ideas can usually be inferred. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, such as “a healthy lifestyle,” “a stack of files,” and “in an organised way.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If the house regularly cleaned … it reduces…” and a relative clause in “senior people who can easily get injured.” However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to process. For example, “I agree with this notion it is necessary” joins two clauses without suitable punctuation or a connector; “If the house regularly cleaned” is missing an auxiliary; and “If the everything is kept” has an unnecessary article. There are also agreement problems in “cleanliness is not only improve” and “there would be a more safety.” Practise complete clause structures, subject–verb agreement, and articles, then proofread each sentence.
