Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your opinion is clear: you support keeping both homes and workplaces tidy, and you address effects on health, sleep, concentration, and motivation. The personal examples—returning to a clean or messy home after work and finding the office unclean—make the response relevant to the question. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, you say that an organised person “achieve more” and that planning motivates people, but you could show how organisation leads to better results. The workplace discussion also shifts briefly to greenery, which is not clearly connected to tidiness. Develop the strongest examples with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and keep each point closely tied to your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response contains several relevant ideas, and the movement from the home to the workplace gives it a basic overall direction. Personal experiences also help connect the topic to your argument. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous block, with no paragraph breaks to distinguish the main points. Many sentences run together, and links such as “as it is,” “whenever,” and “if” do not always make the relationship between ideas clear. The repeated references to feeling tired or refreshed also interrupt progression. Organise the response into an introduction, separate paragraphs for home and workplace, and a conclusion. Use clear linking phrases to show whether you are adding a reason, giving an example, or explaining a result.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “organised,” “concentrate,” “performance,” “motivation,” and “distraction,” and you attempt to express ideas about both physical and mental wellbeing. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “exausted,” “peacful,” “irrtated,” and “negtivl impact.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “keeps us heady,” “drop yours performance,” and “that environment not pushed me.” Repetition of “neat,” “clean,” and “hectic” limits variety. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, such as “improve performance” and “feel refreshed,” so your vocabulary communicates your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “if your office will messy you cant concentrate” and the account of returning home after a hectic day. This shows an effort to connect causes and results. However, many sentences have problems with sentence boundaries, verb forms, agreement, and articles, which can make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “messy and disorganised things makes us” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “if your office will messy” needs a different conditional structure. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several ideas joined without full stops. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them using accurate clauses and punctuation.
