Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some individuals say that it is essential to tidy up your home and work, with everything organised in the right place. I strongly agree with this because of so many reasons.
Firstly, there is a popular saying, ‘cleanliness is nearer to Godliness’. Personally, I think that it means being tidy is close to being spiritually upright. Keeping the work involves sweeping and mopping the floor . This eliminates tripping and fall hazards which can cause drastic bodily harm. For example, a person is likely to trip and fall if the floor is wet or if there is random objects which are on the the floor when they are supposed to be packed somewhere.
Also, when objects and tools are neatly arranged in the workshop, it is easy to locate them when you need to use them. As a result, instead of spending a lot of time looking for a ten inch spanner anywhere, if proper housekeeping is done, you can easily find it in the toolbox. Housekeeping aligns with Safety and Health policies of many workplaces.
In addition to that, it is also very important to keep the house tidy. For instance, correct disposal of waste. If people eat and leave left-overs everywhere, it will result in a health hazard. Waste attracts flies which can bring in dangerous diseases such as cholera. Therefore it is advisable to put food waste in trash bags and dispose them properly.
Overall, I think that keeping the house and workplace clean has many advantages and everyone is encouraged to practise it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that homes and workplaces should be kept tidy, and you maintain this view in the conclusion. The response addresses both settings and gives relevant reasons, including reducing trip hazards, finding tools quickly, and preventing waste-related health risks. The workshop example about locating a spanner helps make one point concrete. However, some ideas are developed more fully than others: the safety point is explained, while the claim that tidiness is spiritually upright is not connected clearly to the argument. The home example could also explain more directly how regular organisation prevents the problem. More consistent explanation and support would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs on workplace and home tidiness, and a concluding statement. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Also,” “In addition to that,” and “Overall” make the progression easy to follow. The examples generally appear beside the points they support. At times, however, the linking feels mechanical, and some connections between ideas could be clearer. For instance, the saying about cleanliness and spiritual uprightness is followed by workplace sweeping without explaining the relationship between them. The sentence beginning “Keeping the work involves…” also makes the transition from the general claim to the safety argument abrupt. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the logical link between each claim and its explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “tripping and fall hazards,” “neatly arranged,” “proper housekeeping,” and “health hazard.” These choices communicate the main points, and terms such as “toolbox” and “waste” suit the examples. There are also some imprecise or awkward expressions: “Keeping the work” is unclear, “random objects” is informal for this context, and “bring in dangerous diseases” is not a natural collocation. Repetition of “tidy,” “clean,” and “properly” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise workplace and household vocabulary, and check collocations so that your meaning sounds natural as well as clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“if the floor is wet…”) and a result clause (“As a result…”). Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation slips are present. For example, “if there is random objects” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “dispose them properly” needs an object pronoun form that fits the verb pattern. In “the floor . This,” the space before the full stop is incorrect, while “the the floor” repeats an article. The sentence beginning “instead of spending…” is also awkwardly constructed and would be clearer if divided or recast. Review agreement, pronouns, articles, and sentence boundaries while continuing to use varied structures.
