Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the reason for applying, suitability for the role, and plans for free time. However, the development of these ideas is quite limited. For instance, the explanation of suitability relies on vague statements like 'I have little experience how to take care of him' rather than providing specific examples of childcare responsibilities. The tone is also somewhat informal and inconsistent for a formal letter of application. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detail and ensure the tone remains professional throughout the entire correspondence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical. There is a lack of linking words to connect ideas smoothly within sentences. For example, the transition between discussing your interest in the job and your experience is abrupt. Additionally, the punctuation is inconsistent, with frequent run-on sentences and missing capital letters (e.g., 'i' instead of 'I'), which disrupts the flow of the text. Improving the use of transition words like 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in addition' would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express ideas with precision. You rely on simple phrases such as 'look after' and 'spend time,' which are used multiple times. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'invest my free time' and 'i just done with my study.' To improve, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to childcare and professional settings. Avoid repeating the same words and try to incorporate more descriptive adjectives and precise verbs to convey your suitability for the position more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are persistent issues with verb tense consistency, such as 'i just done with my study' instead of 'I have just finished my studies.' Subject-verb agreement and sentence structure are also problematic, with many run-on sentences lacking proper punctuation. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring proper capitalization, and checking for subject-verb agreement. Reducing the number of errors in simple sentences should be your primary goal before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
