IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child.

Write a letter to the parents. In your letter

• explain why you would like the job
• give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
• say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

I am writing to express my interest in the job you have posted. As I have just completed my studies, I am on a work permit. I have paid all the fees. Now, I want to do a job that can help me to stay there and will help me to save some money. I found this job description in the magazine, and it really caught my eye because I really wanted to do that kind of job where I can spend time with a family and can take care of a child.

I assure you that you will not regret your decision, as I am an Indian girl and understand the significance of family and their love and support. Moreover, I love children, and I feel delighted if I can help you to engage your child in interesting indoor activities.

I will spend my free time talking with my parents on the phone and taking care of my personal hygiene, and I will make sure to come up with creative, fun activities for your child at home.
