Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed all three bullet points of the task: explaining why you want the job, detailing your suitability, and describing your plans for free time. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the explanation of your suitability is a bit repetitive and lacks clarity in certain sentences. To improve, ensure that each point is fully expanded with clear, logical sentences. While the purpose of the letter is clear, some phrasing is slightly confusing, which hinders the overall impact of your message.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally' and 'During my free time,' to transition between ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the transition in the first paragraph which feels abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making some sentences feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'immersing,' 'environment,' and 'landscape.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'too much beneficent' instead of 'highly beneficial' and 'I have gain much experience' instead of 'I have gained significant experience.' These errors occasionally cause the reader to pause, though they do not prevent the message from being understood. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('Your child are'), incorrect verb forms ('I am look after,' 'I have work'), and awkward sentence construction ('It's taught to me, but too much beneficent'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic verb tenses and subject-verb agreement. Proofreading your work for these specific types of errors before submitting will significantly enhance your score.
