IELTS Writing Task 1 question

You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child.

Write a letter to the parents. In your letter

• explain why you would like the job
• give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
• say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir,

Hope this mail finds you well. I am writing this email in response to your advertisement in an Australian magazine.

Actually, I am interested to stay with your family for about half year and babysit your six year old child. I am living here alone in this country and it will be so wonderful to get a chance to live in a family for some time, moreover to pay for my expenses I need to do earn some money. And this job is like the one I was looking for.

I am from a joint family where I lived with my younger baby nephew who is five year old and I am very familiar with how to handle kids. Furthermore, I have done a one year course of early childhood development in Canada few years ago before moving here.

During the free time I will explore different places in this country and make some good memories to cherish in future. I can also help you with day to day household work to spend my time productively.
