Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my interest to look after for your child.
I am very interested for this job, as I love spending time with kids. I am already living in the Australia since 2 years. I am also available to take care of child for the next 6 months.
Moreover, I have completed my diploma in the early childhood education. I also have one year of experience as a baby sitter in the day-care settings. I love to take care of child because it is just not my job, it's my passion too.
Furthermore, I can also teach your child some basic education, such as numbers and alphabets. I like to spend my leisure time with kids because playing with kids makes me happy. Moreover, I can also make some healthy food for your child.
Please let me know if you need any additional information from me. I am looking forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Mayur Rabari

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The letter covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You explain your interest in the job, provide relevant qualifications (diploma and experience), and mention your leisure activities. However, the third bullet point regarding how you would spend your free time in Australia is addressed very briefly and somewhat repetitively by focusing only on playing with the child. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your personal interests or hobbies outside of childcare to show a more well-rounded personality. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though some phrasing is slightly simplistic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the prompt, which helps the reader follow your ideas easily. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Furthermore' to link your points. However, the use of these connectors is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the transition between sentences is smoother. The overall progression of ideas is clear, but the flow could be more natural with a wider variety of cohesive structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your experience and intentions clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'early childhood education' and 'day-care settings'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some minor collocation errors, such as 'interest to look after for' (should be 'interest in looking after') and 'living in the Australia' (the article 'the' is unnecessary). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to childcare and professional experience.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions and articles, such as 'interested for this job' (should be 'interested in') and 'take care of child' (should be 'take care of your child'). There are also minor issues with verb forms, such as 'I am already living in the Australia since 2 years' (should be 'I have been living in Australia for two years'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do affect the overall accuracy of your writing.
